A review on the do's and don'ts on caring for a pitbull over the winter month. Did you know most pitbulls are lost during winter months than any other time of the year? To ensure the safety of your pitbull, during the harsh winter months, try these pitbull care recommendations:

When it comes to collies there is some debate about the smooth-coat collie. Some breed organizations consider the smooth-coat and rough-coat dogs to be variations of the same breed. Others consider them to be completely seperate.

Always make sure your pitbull's ID tag is properly affixed before heading out into the great outdoors.

The basenji could really be considered more like a cat than a dog. Not only is it the only breed of dog that does not bark, but is also a meticulous cleaner. Unlike other dogs, the basenji actually licks itself clean, just like a cat!

Following a heavy snow or during extreme conditions that may induce ice, never allow your pitbull to roam freely without a leash. It's easy for a canine to fall through ice or stumble across other potentially dangerous incidents.

In the original 101 Dalmatians movie, Pongo has 72 spots, Perdita has 68 and each of the puppies has 32. Real dalmations have unique numbers and patterns of spots, almost like a human beigns fingerprint.

The Podengo, a rare breed of dog, is also known as the Portuguese Warren Hound. It is usually a fawn or yellow color, but can be brown, black or sooty colored without white patches or spots. It resembled a long-bodied chihuahua.

Never leave an unattended pitbull in a vehicle during a wintry, blustery day. Leaving a pitbull or cat alone in the car is tantamount to leaving a canine in a refrigerator or freezer, increasing the possibility of your pet freezing to death.

Beagles are known to be extremely social and cheerful dogs. They are expected to be so friendly that, even in dog shows, the judges expect them to be happy. They have points removed in the judging if they look to be unhappy.

Canines with short-hair may require a sweater or coat to keep them warm. Look for pitbullgie ware that covers the neck to as least the base of the belly or tail. (in example turtleneck or a high collar)

The greyhound breed originally came from Egypt and was developed about 5,000 years ago. The greyhound breed was known before the ninth century in England, where it was bred by aristocrats to hunt small game.
