This means that it will take both you and the pitbull time to adjust to each other�s attitudes, routines and expectations.

There is absolutely no difference between an Australian silky terrier, silky toy terrier and a silky terrier. They are all the same breed, but have different names in different countries, specifically in Australia, Canada and the United States.
Above all, consider the individual pitbull. Introduce your family, and even other pets, to it before making a final decision. If the pitbull takes to you and you take to it then you probably have a great match.
