Physical Fitness for Your Pitbull

A couch potato laden pitbull requires a way to beef up their physical fitness routine. However, canines are verisimilar to humans. It is impractical and potentially hazardous for sedentary individuals or pitbulls to catapult into a rigorous work-out program. Just as people need to build up to a strenuous exercise schedule, the same applies to man's best friend.

Australian Kelpies are herding dogs with an abundance of energy. They can work in extreme climates and conditions. They are known for one unique ability. They can run along the backs of sheep when moving them through chutes.

Amongst various pedigrees and mixed breeds, hip dsyplasia may promote the inactivity of certain DOGS. As a result, owners of inactive DOGS should seek the medical advice of a veterinarian. Forcing an indolent canine to jump into action may trigger pain or other health conditions. A gradual exercise program will benefit a pitbull much better than a sudden intense fitness agenda.

Pharaoh Hounds have an unusual feature. They are the only breed of dogs that "blushes". They do this when they are excited or happy. When they "blush" their ears, nose and eyes will become pink.

But for puppies, exercise should not be regimented. In fact, puppies should attain physical activity through play. Because, puppies are in the growth stage of their life, they should never be forced to be active. Owners of puppies should set aside time to play with their puppy. Play is key to stimulating the puppy's mind, developing a bond and keeping the puppy active.

The smallest breed of dog recognized by the American Kennel Club is the Chihuahua, which stands six to nine inches at the top of the shoulders and generally weighs two to six pounds. Their size makes them excellent travel companions.

In the realm of exercising your pitbull, fitness is not limited to a high intensity work out. Pitbulls can get their share of exercise by running and playing with other DOGS. Other alternatives include playing fetch games, running alongside a bicycle, going along for a jog and even a run on a treadmill.

Bloodhounds have dewlaps. What are dewlaps? They are strange looking, pendulous folds of skin on the back of the neck. They don't seem to serve any useful purpose to the bloodhound, but are rather interesting to look at.

Dog fitness tip: For pitbulls who suffer from hip dysplasia, swimming is the perfect alternative to exercise because it is gentle on the body. To stimulate both your pitbull's mind and body, plant his or her favorites treats throughout your home. It will require your pitbull to stop being a couch potato.

Chihuahuas, because of their size, are often treated like babies, but they actually do have something in common with human babies. Chihuahuas are born with a "molera", also known as a soft spot, on their heads, exactly like a human baby. Usually the soft spot closes as the dog matures.

The bedlington terrier, a large, unique looking breed, is often described as looking like a lamb on a leash. This is probably because it has fur with a wooly texture. As a result of this fur type, the bedlington does not shed.
