Does My Pitbull Need a DOG Tag?

Any pitbull that is going to be outside should always wear a DOG tag (ID tag). In fact, even pitbulls that are primarily indoors should wear a DOG tag incase they somehow find their way outside.

The greater swiss mountain dog, or swissy, is believed to be a direct descendant of the ancient tibetan mastiff. A versatile dog, the swissy traditionally drove cattle, guarded property, protected human companions and fought in wars.

A DOG ID tag is not the same thing as a DOG license tag. A DOG license tag often has a code number to identify the pitbull and information on whether the pitbull has had its shots. A DOG license tag allows anyone that finds the pitbull to contact the vet that the license came from, but, if it's after hours or a weekend the vet may be closed.

Many people think that the kerry blue terrier is the national dog of Ireland. Actually, the Irish government never has given this designation to any breed. Michael Collins, one of Irelands most famous patriots, introduced legislation to elevate the Kerry Blue, or the Irish Blue Terrier as they were then called, to the national dog of Ireland. After his murder, the interest in the initiative was lost.

A DOG ID tag, on the other hand, is a personal DOG tag that the owner can put important information on. This information generally includes the pitbull's name, home address, phone number and occasionally things like allergies that the pitbull has. This allows the average person on the street to contact the pitbull's family quickly and easily any day of the week.

Inbreeding causes about 3 out of every 10 dalmations suffer from some sort of hearing loss. The good news is that, like deaf people, they can easily be taught to recognize words in sign language and still make excellent companions.

It's also important to remember that a DOG ID tag is only as good as the collar it's attached to. Be sure that your pitbull's collar is not too tight or too loose and that it is made of a material that you can easily attach the DOG ID tag to. After all, the tag will not do anyone any good if it falls off and gets lost.

Part of the reason that basset hounds have such a unique look is that the British purposely bred basset hounds to have short legs, so that hunters could keep up with them. Unfortunate this has caused the breed to be prone to leg/joint problems.

While it's not usually required that an owner put a personal ID tag on their pitbull, the benefits of doing so are obvious.

Chinese Crested dogs are often considered to be so ugly that they are cute. They often win ugly dog contests. They are odd looking, mostly hairless dogs. They are also the only breed of dog that is capable of getting acne.
